Amerikanerin Erin Stroberg hat ihren Vertrag verlängert und wird auch in der kommenden Saison das Trikot der Chemnitzerinnen tragen. Die ChemCats-Fans dürfen sich also weiterhin auf ihre starke Präsenz unter dem Korb freuen.

Wenn Erin auf die vergangene Saison zurückblickt, gibt es einen Moment, der ihr besonders in Erinnerung geblieben ist: „A special moment for me this season was towards the beginning of the season when we got our 6th win in a row for Coach Thomas and I remember him coming to me and saying it’s been a long time since this club has had that many wins in a row! Our team goal was 6 wins before Christmas break and we crushed that within the first 6 games“, erzählt sie stolz. Dieser Start war nicht nur ein sportlicher Erfolg, sondern auch ein Zeichen dafür, wie viel Potenzial in diesem Team steckt.

Doch es ist nicht nur der Basketball, der Erin an Chemnitz so gut gefällt. „I love the people here. Everyone is welcoming and I know if I ever needed help, I know this community has my back!" Besonders beeindruckt ist sie von den ChemCats-Fans: „The ChemCats fans are always some of the best fans I’ve seen in my basketball career. They are always there to support us & we know we can count them to show up to every game.“

Für die kommende Saison hat Erin klare Ziele vor Augen: „Goals for myself include being more versatile around the perimeter and being able to find other scoring opportunities besides down low in the post!“
Doch auch das Team steht für sie an erster Stelle: „I want to focus on winning as many games as possible…Which takes a whole team, not just one person! But with the members we have, I believe it will be possible moving forward.“

Bis dahin liegt ihr Fokus jedoch auf den Playoffs und darauf, die aktuelle Saison so erfolgreich wie möglich abzuschließen.
